Shared Care Hospital Project

We aim to improve facilities and supports for children hospitalised in isolation rooms in 16 shared care/ regional hospitals, where they attend for cancer care outside of Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital, Crumlin.

The children require stimulation within the confines of a small room which they cannot leave to visit the playroom or even the toilet. Equipment funded to date includes wall mounted cardiac monitors and thermometers (to eliminate the risk of cross contamination when moving equipment from room to room), TVs, DVD players, gaming devices, electric beds, lie flat chair beds for the parents and wall art to brighten up the isolation rooms.
